My 12th Concept - Miikka Kiprusoff Tribute
Back in 2004, the Calgary Flames competed for the Stanley Cup in the NHL finals. In fact, this was the first time since I’d been born, that a Canadian team appeared in the finals. The star goalie for the Flames: Miikka Kiprusoff.
I recall trying to emulate the netminder in mini stick matches against my childhood friends. As such, it was only fitting that my first NHL tribute concept mask would be a rendition of Kipper’s mask.
In this design, I completed the shell in 545 strokes, in less than an hour. Although it was a rushed design session - and the skull isn’t exactly polished - I feel it captures the main components of Kiprusoff’s bucket.
So here it is! What do you guys think?
